Fear Itself
(ashes, cotton and alpaca paper made with ash, ash ink, wooden box, fuses, video, paintbrushes, curtains, lights)
After having made 6 Temples, Michael created paper and ink using ground up ash from those burns. Mr. Verdon installed a projector and wall hangings to create atmosphere and played all 6 burns in order on the projector. Participants were invited to write on the paper using the ash ink. The words disappeared as they dried. They were bound into a wooden box and burned with everyone present.
