Spirit Rises
(wood, paint, lantern, flame lit on lead’s daughter’s birthday)
Spirit Rises represents our collective possibilities. When we work together, when we align ourselves, we have unlimited potential. The Spirit rises through the floor towards the sky, piecing anything in its way. Inside the upper half of the Spirit there was a chamber for a lantern. Inside that lantern, a flame started several months prior upon the birth of a daughter of the crew. This flame was then intended to be used to light the fire that would also consume the structure.
The styling calls upon Cathedrals of Europe in its archways. Each angle of this work allowed you to see something completely new. There were many benches for resting and reflection.
